Licensed in Arizona under ROC#343460, the firm is owner-operated by Coltyn Colby, a builder with more than twelve years of hands-on industry experience designing and constructing outdoor environments across the Southwest.

Before launching Outdoor Dream Builders, Coltyn spent years inside the traditional landscape and construction model—delivering projects at scale, often constrained by timelines, budgets, and standards that prioritized speed over craft. While the work was successful, the vision was limited. Details were rushed. Materials were compromised. And excellence was often an afterthought.

At a certain point, that model stopped making sense.

Coltyn made the decision to step away—not out of dissatisfaction, but out of ambition. He wanted the freedom to build differently. To elevate materials, execution, and design. To dedicate more time and resources to his family. And to create outdoor spaces that felt less like projects and more like destinations.
