Care Guide
Water established plants only every 3-4 weeks in the hottest months; they store water internally and rot quickly in wet or poorly drained soil.
None needed; remove any rotted or sun-scalded tissue, and offsets can be separated to start new plants.
Little to none; a single dilute spring feeding is plenty.
Watch for mealybugs and scale between the ribs; rot from overwatering is the main killer.
The crown can sunburn if the plant is turned or moved, so keep its orientation; protect from hard frost, which leaves disfiguring scars.
